Refund & Cancellation Policy

The short version.

  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel any time before renewal to stop future charges.
  • We generally do not refund time you have already subscribed for, except where the law requires it.
  • Duplicate or clearly erroneous charges are refunded once verified.
  • To cancel or request a refund, email hello@alealearning.com.

1. Scope

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to paid subscriptions purchased through alealearning.com and the Alea applications (the “Service”), operated by the operator of Alea Learning (“Alea”, “we”, “us”). It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Subscriptions and renewal

Some features require a paid subscription. Prices and billing cycles (for example monthly, six-monthly, or annual) are shown in the Service at the time of purchase and may vary by region and currency. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Razorpay. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel.

3. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time from your billing settings in the Service, or by emailing hello@alealearning.com from the address associated with your account. When you cancel:

  • you keep access to paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for;
  • your subscription does not renew, and you are not charged again; and
  • we do not prorate or partially refund the unused portion of the current period, except as set out below or as required by law.

4. Refunds

To the extent permitted by law, payments for subscriptions are non-refundable, and cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for the current period. We may, at our discretion, grant a refund or credit in individual cases.

We will refund, once verified:

  • duplicate charges for the same subscription;
  • charges resulting from a clear technical or billing error on our side; and
  • charges where a refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law.

Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law.

5. How to request a refund

Email hello@alealearning.com from the email address on your account, including the approximate date of the charge and the payment or transaction reference if you have it. This helps us locate and review your payment quickly.

6. How refunds are processed

Where a refund is approved, it is issued to the original payment method through Razorpay. We aim to initiate approved refunds within five to seven (5–7) business days of approval. The time for the amount to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside our control.

7. Payment processor and chargebacks

Payments and refunds are handled by Razorpay, and your use of its payment services is subject to its terms. If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first at hello@alealearning.com so we can resolve it, rather than raising a chargeback with your bank, which can delay a resolution.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
